Richard H. Blake to Join Cast of Broadway's JERSEY BOYS as 'Tommy DeVito' in January

The producers of the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical JERSEY BOYS have announced that Richard H. Blake (Legally Blonde, Wicked) will join the cast on Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the role of 'Tommy DeVito.' He assumes the role from Andy Karl who departs the production following the Sunday, December 1st performance. John Gardiner, who played 'Tommy' on the national tour, will perform the role from December 3, 2013 through Wednesday, January 8, 2014. (more...)

DISASTER! -- the hilarious, acclaimed 1970s disaster movie musical now playing Off-Broadway at the St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street) - is getting into the holiday spirit by adding a performance to this week's schedule - and by offering a discount for those who come with canned goods (to be donated to charity). Those who come to the St. Luke's Theatre on Friday, November 29th with 2 canned goods will be eligible to purchase $25 tickets to that afternoon's special matinee performance at 1:30 PM. All collected canned goods will be donated to charity. The St. Luke's Box Office will open at on Friday, 12/29 at Noon ($25 tickets are available IN-PERSON ONLY on a first-come, first-served basis while supply lasts). (more...)

ASCAP is now seeking new musicals for the annual ASCAP/DreamWorks Musical Theatre Workshop in Los Angeles. Serving once more as artistic director for the workshop is Academy and Grammy Award-winning composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz, whose credits include hit Broadway shows Wicked, Godspell and Pippin, the Walt Disney films Enchanted, Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and the DreamWorks film The Prince of Egypt.
