It has been reported that two different Fred Astaire biopics are currently in the works. To make matters even more complicated, both actors playing Astaire on the big screen, Jamie Bell and Tom Holland, have played the title role in Billy Elliot in the past. Following a hugely successful workshop in 2019, producers Playful Productions, Stage Play and Trim the Wind have announced that Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Story, the definitive new musical featuring Bob Marley's iconic hits played live on stage, will begin previews in London at the newly refurbished Lyric Theatre on Saturday 6th February 2021.  Brought to the stage by a multi award-winning team, Lee Hall's (Billy Elliot The Musical, Network) book takes direct inspiration from Marley's visionary lyrics to tell his extraordinary personal story as an artist, the production will be directed by Dominic Cooke (Follies, Clybourne Park) and star Arinzé Kene (Misty, Girl from the North Country).

Producers Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce announced today that Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations has once again broken the box office house record at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Ain't Too Proud's gross for the week ending December 29, 2019, was $1,865,016.90, the highest in the history of the Imperial Theatre. The musical broke its own record of $1,710,207.90 set the week of December 8, 2019. Prior to that, Billy Elliot: The Musical held the Imperial's house record, grossing $1,663,895.00 in January 2010.

Director/Choreographer Geoffrey Goldberg returns to the Media after his wonderful work on Media's Billy Elliot to take the helm of this award winning emotionally charged production. Surrounded by an outstanding principle cast led by Philly area favorites Krissy Fraelich and Ben Dibble (Diana & Dan), this brave production unfolds. Far from a 'feel good' show and more of a 'feel everything' experience, Next is To Normal the musical is the portrait of a manic-depressive mother, the people she loves and the pain that cripples her and prevents a typical suburban family from living a 'normal' life.

Broadway Shines will appear on 'Good Morning America' on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 during the 8:30 a.m. half-hour as part of GMA's 'Warm Coats & Warm Hearts' Drive. Broadway kids from On Your Feet and past shows including Billy Elliot, Enron, Evita, Mary Poppins and Shrek will be on location in Times Square lending a helping hand.  This year, the goal is to donate 400 coats by working with the cast and crew of The Lion King, Matilda, On Your Feet, Beautiful the Carole King Musical, and Kinky Boots.

The boys were cast following nationwide auditions and after months of intensive rehearsals began alternating in the role following the show's opening earlier in the year.  Billy Elliot the musical opens at The Bristol Hippodrome on Tuesday 25thOctober and runs until Saturday 26th November 2016.

This summer, NYMF will be on quest to save Paradise one Scrabble tile at a time. The new musical, The Last Word will be presented at the Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42ND STREET project (229 W 42nd St) . The Last Word is written by Brett Sullivan (Billy Elliot Live Film Director) and will be directed by Michael Bello (Doctor Zhivago), choreography by Nick Kenkel (Gotta Dance, Legally Blonde) and Musical Supervisor is Conrad Helfrich (Dirty Dancing).  It will begin performances on July 22 and will run through July 29, 2016. The boys were cast following nationwide auditions and after months of intensive rehearsals will alternate in the role when the show opens at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on Wednesday 24 February 2016.
