Virginia's Signature Theatre presents the world premiere of Diner, the musical adaptation of the landmark film with a book by the movie's Academy Award-winning screenwriter and director Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Bugsy, The Natural) and an original score by nine-time Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow. The production begins performances at Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre tonight, December 9. It will play for six and a half weeks, through January 25. (more...)

Directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award« Winner Kathleen Marshall (Broadway's Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It), the production begins performances at Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre December 9. According to the Washington Post, later today Crow and Levinson will both take part in Post: POV, a series hosted by Peter Marks, at which the duo will discuss putting the new musical together. Curtain Call Theatre is expanding its reach throughout St. Lucie County, adding two new musicals and a special engagement of The Beatles' Abbey Road in concert starring McCartney Mania to its already thrilling season. The new musicals, Story of My Life, a comic-drama exploring the contours friendship and tragedy, and The Last 5 Years, a musical chronicling a failed marriage from both points of view, are available for purchase as a discounted package. Curtain Call's hit show, Drag Queen Bingo Bonanza, an improv comedy duo paired with bingo, will also gain an additional brunch show January 11th to compliment its wildly popular evening performance January 10th. Just last night, Sting joined the cast of the musical he penned, The Last Ship, for a limited run through January 10, 2015. He will be replacing actor Jimmy Nail, who is said to have 'blessed' the move. Sting then joins Paul Simon on tour in New Zealand on January 30, 2015, making any further extensions unlikely.
