Critics and audiences alike all seem to have TROUBLE IN MIND. Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will add an additional six performances of its current hit production of TROUBLE IN MIND, Alice Childress' vibrant, humorous, and heartbreaking look at racism through the lens of the theater. Robin Stanton (Speech & Debate, Betrayed, Permanent Collection) directs this play about race, identity, and opportunity, featuring Bay Area favorite Margo Hall in her Aurora Theatre Company debut, along with Tim Kniffin, Rhonnie Washington, Elizabeth Carter, Michael Ray Wisely, Earll Kingston, Patrick Russell, Jon Gentry, and Melissa Quine. Accoring to a report by Baz Bamigboye in UK Daily Mail, Australian choreographer Ashley Wallen, is set to choreograph the upcoming musical version of Ghost. Wallen is perhaps best known for his work with Kylie Minogue and DanceX. Wallen has also with stars such as The Sugababes, Will Young and Mariah Carey. This will be the first time he has worked on a musical theatre piece. (more...)

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced complete casting for the New York premiere of AFTER THE REVOLUTION, a new play by Amy Herzog (Missed Connections, 508 at Ars Nova, Hungry at EST). Directed by Carolyn Cantor (Essential Self-Defense at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Water Flower), the production will begin previews Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 PM. With an Opening Night set for Tuesday, November 9 at 7PM, the limited engagement will play through Sunday, November 28 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). In a wide-ranging interview with the LA Times, Raul Esparza talked about the future hopes for Leap of Faith, and the article says that: That intensity is the saving grace, literally, of 'Leap of Faith,' and in the closing days of the musical's first theatrical run the 39-year-old is in a reflective mood. He and the producers hope the show will move on to Broadway. 'I know that's the hope. I don't know how quickly that will happen,' he says. 'You don't want to lose momentum on this thing. There's a lot of money involved, a lot of people involved, a lot of word of mouth now. I hear buzz coming back from New York that it's good.' (more...)
