Playhouse on Park kicks off Season 11 With Dan Goggin's NUNSENSE, running September 18 a?" October 13. Revel in the madness of this hilariously funny musical comedy, featuring a troupe of dancing, singing nuns. NUNSENSE follows the crazy antics of five nuns from the Little Sisters of Hoboken convent. When their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, accidentally serves some tainted soup, poisoning 52 of the sisters, the five surviving nuns must band together to raise funds for their burials. The score pulses with merriment and an unabashed desire to make you laugh, with songs and spontaneous comic interludes paced at breakneck speed.

PBS KIDS is ringing in the school year with an exciting line-up of new programming from award-winning series, and resources for families and teachers. Starting August 5, families from coast-to-coast can tune in together to fun and educational PBS KIDS programming, including the premiere of PINKALICIOUS & PETERRIFIC: A Pinkaperfect Birthday, the first one-hour special from the series; back-to-back brand-new episodes of DINOSAUR TRAIN; and a special DANIEL TIGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD “Family Week,” featuring the debut of five episodes.

FUN HOME, Salt Lake Acting Company (saltlakeactingcompany.org) The stirring performances under the expert direction of Jason Bowcutt, who guided the cast from melancholy to zany in a heartbeat, made this premiere production hauntingly moving. Hailee Olenberger was utterly astonishing in the pivotal role of Medium Alison, perfectly capturing the awkward joy of first love and discovery of her sexuality. The live band, assuredly led by David Evanoff, was an additional reason for this reviewer to see FUN HOME three times.

The Capitol Steps return to Mayo Performing Arts Center to offer their comedic take on all things political on Friday, January 11 at 8 pm. Tickets are $29-$59.

Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical on Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Children's Theatre at Willow Lawn. Based on the Caldecott Honor-winning picture book, author Mo Willems has adapted his cautionary tale for the stage. With Willems as book writer and lyricist and Michael Silversher as composer, this wacky, heartwarming tale of kerfuffle is bubbly, colorful, and perfect for kids and adults alike.

Tickets are now on sale for Kelrik Productions' PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL, playing April 28 - May 6 at the Lyceum Space Theatre, 79 Horton Plaza, San Diego. Based on the 2006 New York Times best-selling children's book by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann, PINKALICIOUS, is the tale of a girl who can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite her parents' warnings about the dangers of over-indulgence.

Westport actor/singer Jaden Waldman, age 8, who is the voice of Pinkalicious's brother Peter in the new PBS Kids animated series "Pinkalicious & Peterrific," will greet fans of the show in the Westport Country Playhouse lobby on Sunday, March 11, at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., prior to performances of "Pinkalicious, the Musical."  Audience members are invited to dress as their favorite "Pinkalicious" character and pose for photos with Jaden.

Virginia Repertory Theatre opens Pinkalicious on Friday, April 2, 2018, at the Children's Theatre at Willow Lawn. Based on the popular children's book series, co-authors Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann have partnered with composer and lyricist John Gregor to add a musical touch to the story of a little girl as she becomes confident enough to embrace who she is... and her love of the color pink.
