The 2020 Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival has announced the award winners for its eighth annual event which featured a lineup of screenings, premieres, panels, virtual reality demonstrations, and the launch of a new screenplay competition held in honor of acclaimed novelist Philip K. Dick. The festival was held from March 4-8, 2020 at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY and recognized nine films and three screenplays for their outstanding filmmaking and storytelling.

Grammy Award nominated, multi-platinum R&B/Pop recording artist and actress Deborah Cox and award-winning singer, songwriter, and activist Lauren Jauregui are set to perform at The Trevor Project's TrevorLIVE Los Angeles on Dec. 2 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.The event's star-studded red carpet and full awards show will be streamed live on The Trevor Project's Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, powered by the first queer global streaming network Revry and hosted by Shira Lazar and Ryan Mitchell from 'Let's Go There' on Channel Q Radio. The gala will launch the two-year partnership, which names Revry as the exclusive live streaming partner and the Official Streaming Network of TrevorLIVE LA and NY. It was previously announced that Ryan Murphy, the cast of “POSE,” Amandla Stenberg, and AT&T will be honored. Music Theatre of Denton is proud to announce auditions for RAGTIME, the Broadway musical based on E.L. Doctorow's distinguished 1975 novel. With a book by Terrence McNally and music by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, RAGTIME is considered one of the best musicals on the past several decades. For Music Theatre of Denton, Kyle Christopher West directs with John Norine Jr. serving as musical director and Elizabeth Cantrell as stage manager. RAGTIME runs February 22nd - March 3rd.

The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) today honored several outstanding female journalists at the 2018 Courage in Journalism Awards luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street. This year's honorees included news agency JINHA founder, Zehra Do?an, U.S. freelance photojournalist, Meridith Kohut, undercover CNN International correspondent, Nima Elbagir, and organized crime reporter and ZETA editor-in-chief, Rosario Mosso Castro. "60 Minutes'" Lesley Stahl also received the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, MSNBC President, Phil Griffin was recognized with the IWMF Leadership Award along with Bloomberg News' Senior Editor, Karen Toulon who was honored with the Gwen Ifill Award.
