? For its 18th summer, Theatre Under The Trees is adding a modern, musical twist to the classic Shakespeare comedy, As You Like It. Theatre Under The Trees has always brought unique, show-specific music to York County audiences thanks to co-founder, music, and voice director Gayle Eubank. Eubank will be composing original music for the five songs included in the play, taking inspiration from the late 1980's.  These songs will be performed by Strange Oaths, a five part band created just for the show. The Public Theater announced today that Louis Cancelmi, last seen as Caliban in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, has joined the company of TROILUS AND CRESSIDA as Achilles. Theatre Royal Stratford East's new season opens with Counting Stars by award-winning playwright and newly appointed Writer in Residence Atiha Sen Gupta. The stage will be transformed into a studio format nightclub installation where you sit on the stage for this funny yet heart-breaking tale directed by Associate Director, Pooja Ghai. Doors will open at 715pm for music and a bar on stage to soak up the atmosphere before the show. The experience will start then. Ghai directs Estella Daniels as Sophie and Lanre Malaolu as Abiodun. Shakespeare on the Green and Green Expo Returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse

More than 10 years ago The Ridgefield Playhouse decided to end the season (which runs from September through August) with a "thank you" to the community - and Shakespeare on the Green and Green Expo was born. It has now become a much loved, community event bringing in more than 500 attendees each year. This year's event will take place on Saturday, August 13, the "green living expo" runs from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. with Shakespeare's "So Please You", produced and performed by Hudson Valley Shakespeare, being performed under the tent at 2 p.m. Without the generous support of business partners such as Casey Energy and People's United Bank, plus many other sponsors who have been supporting this event over the years, such as the Carlson and O'Connell Families, Patricia Minskoff Breede and many others, it would not be possible to have families experience this amazing event for free. Tickets for Shakespeare on the Green and Green Expo are free but must be reserved by calling the box office at 203-438-5795, with a limit of 6 tickets per family on a first come first served basis. Tickets will be held at the box office until 1 p.m. the day of the show. For more information, visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
