Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans announce the World Premiere of Low Down Dirty Blues, by Randal Myler and Dan Wheetman, the creators of It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues and Fire On the Mountain. The production will feature Tony Award nominee Felicia P. Fields (The Color Purple) in her first role in Chicago since The Color Purple and two-time Jeff Award-winner Mississippi Charles Bevel. The production will be directed by Randal Myler with musical direction by Dan Wheetman. Low Down Dirty Blues runs May 27 - July 3, 2010 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. Provision Theater Company, a multi-Jeff nominated Equity theater company, will close their run of the World Premiere of THE HIDING PLACE on May 23. Based on the bestselling autobiography by Corrie ten Boon, THE HIDING PLACE is the true story of a family that fought the Nazi madness with the only weapon they had: love. With the WWII Nazi invasion of Holland, the ten Boom family joins the underground resistance to help save Jewish families, but when they are arrested and imprisoned in concentration camps themselves, they're left with nothing to cling to but their faith. Wayside Theatre, in Middletown, VA, presents the musical comedy, STRIKING 12, as its third production of the 2010/2011 season from August 28th to September 25th. Opening Night is Sunday, August 29 at 6:30pm. The remaining schedule of performances is Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday's at 2:30 pm. Ticket prices are $30 to $25 dollars for adults. Prices for children 5 to 17 are $10 for any performance. Discounts are available for students and seniors.
