A. D. Players has announced its 2012-2013 season, opening with the Houston professional premiere of Steven Dietz's award winning play, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, and followed by the Houston premiere of The First Church of Texaco by Andrew William Librizzi and the Southwest Premiere of Malcolm and Teresa by Cathal Gallagher. These productions are complemented by sequels to audience favorites, Sanders Family Christmas, written by Connie Ray and conceived by Alan Bailey with musical arrangements by John Foley and Gary Fagin, and Anne of Avonlea by Jeannette Carlisle. Performances are Tuesday-Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm at the Howard Logan Stillwell Theatre. This production features choreography by the Off-Broadway choreographer and acclaimed tap dancer Jen MacQueen, who recently choreographed both the new chamber version of Sweet Charity and the premiere of Clyde 'n' Bonnie the musical. Capital Stage Closes Season 7 with DYING CITY, 7/21-8/12

Written to honor the walking wounded following the war brought on by 9/11, Christopher Shinn's Dying City makes its Sacramento premiere at Capital Stage under the direction of the company's Producing Director, Jonathan Williams and featuring the outstanding cast of Chad Deverman and Lyndsy Kail. The final production of Capital Stage's seventh season, and its first season in its new midtown location, will open on Saturday, July 21, 2012 with a limited four-week run closing on August 12, 2012. The final entry in the Baltimore Playwrights Festival's Thirty-First Season, The Last shall be First, by Percy Thomas, opens on August 10th. Produced by Heralds of Hope Theater in Residence at Sojourner-Douglass College (www.heraldsofhopetheater.com), 410-997-5779, and directed by the playwright, performances of The Last shall be First will take place Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m., Sunday at 3:00 p.m., at Sojourner Douglas College Theater, 200 N.
