Susannah Berryman and Jesse Bush Lead Hangar Theatre's THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, Now thru 9/15

The fifth production of the 2012 Hangar season is a true American classic, Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful. This intensely moving and riveting story of acceptance and coming home again will be directed by the Hangar's Associate Artistic Director Stephanie Yankwitt (Hangar's Rounding Third) and features a cast of local favorites including Susannah Berryman (Hangar's Penelope of Ithaca, The Chalk Circle, Cabaret, and The Rainmaker) and Jesse Bush (Hangar's Ever So Humble, Disney's Beauty and the Beast). Everyman Theatre's 22nd season opener, Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies, is one of the final two shows that will be produced at Everyman's Charles Street home this Fall. In January, 2013, Everyman Theatre will be making an historic move to its brand new theatre located downtown on Fayette Street. Tuta Theatre Chicago Extends THE SILENT LANGUAGE Through 6/9

TUTA Theatre Chicago extends the latest show in its 11th season, The Silent Language, a U.S. premiere, written by Serbian playwright Miodrag Stanisavljevic, translated by Zoran Paunovic, and directed by Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone. The Silent Language, extended by three weekends, will run through Sunday, June 9 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., in addition to Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4 p.m., at TUTA Studio Theatre, 2010 W. Fulton Street. There will be no performances on Saturday, June 1 and will be an added 8 p.m. performance to Sunday, June 2. There is a suggested donation of $25 at the door for adults and $15 for industry/students/children under 18 at all performances. Seating is extremely limited. Reservations are highly recommended. To reserve spots call Brown Paper Tickets at 1-800-838-3006 (24 hours) or online at www.brownpapertickets.com. All reservations must be claimed no later than 15 minutes before a performance or they will be released. This show is recommended for children ages eight and up. (more...)

Texas A&M University's MSC OPAS has announced the events coming to the 2013-14 "Sparks Will Fly" season. The organization unveiled a roster of performances to be presented from September 2013 to April 2014 that includes eight events on the Ann Cobb Wiatt Main Stage series, five on the Intimate Gatherings series, two on the OPAS JR series and two on the new OPAS Family series. Michael Haynie (Wicked, Dogfight), Zachary Prince (On A Clear Day…) and Sam Heldt (Junie B. Jones) have joined the lineup of performers for musical theater writer Adam Gwon's upcoming concert at 54 Below on Monday April 8, 2013 at 9:30pm.
