"Cabin Fever: A Seamus McCree Mystery" by James M. Jackson Now Available in Print and eBook
by BWW News Desk - Apr 9, 2014

Barking Rain Press, a non-profit Fiction publisher, announced the print and eBook release of the thrilling mystery/crime novel 'Cabin Fever: A Seamus McCree Mystery' from Amasa, Michigan, author James M. Jackson. 'Cabin Fever' is the sequel to 'Bad Policy,' which was the first book in the 'Seamus McCree Mysteries' series. Mr. Jackson is also the author of 'One Trick at a Time: How to Start Winning at Bridge,' as well as numerous short stories and essays. With his house in Cincinnati in ruins, financial crimes investigator Seamus McCree retreats to the family cabin for some well-earned rest and relaxation. But his plans for a quiet, contemplative winter in the wilds of Michigan's Upper Peninsula are thrown out the window when he discovers a naked woman on his porch during a blizzard. The mystery woman is suffering from hypothermia, frostbite, high fevers, amnesia-and rope burns on her wrists and ankles. Snowbound at the cabin, without transportation or phone coverage, Seamus struggles to keep the woman alive and find a way to get an SOS message out. What he doesn't know is that a domestic paramilitary organization is hunting for an escaped female prisoner-and closing in on his isolated refuge. The Midwest Book Review calls 'Cabin Fever' 'A satisfying saga with a story line that's complex and unpredictable. With its combination of social consciousness, political action, intrigue, and family relationships, 'Cabin Fever' will satisfy any mystery or thriller reader.' Second Book in the Science Fiction Solbiduym Wars Saga Book Series Released
by BWW News Desk - Apr 9, 2014

Sweet Home Alle Bamma picks up where Book One of the Solbidyum Wars Saga, 'Battle Of The New Orleans' leaves off. Having barely recovered from injuries that nearly took his life in the battle with the Brotherhood of Light to reclaim the Federation star ship Dusten, Tibby must fight again in a struggle of a different kind when both he and Kalana are poisoned by enemy operatives. Tibby's Earth DNA proves to be stronger than the deadly poison; Kalana, however, is rapidly succumbing and must be placed into stasis. One antidote exists against this toxin and it can only be found on the remote planet of Alle Bamma, a non-aligned jungle world on the fringe of the Federation territories. Tibby abandons Admiral Regeny in the Federation's plan to ambush the Brotherhood at the planet Prolaxen, in order to race to the jungle planet with his crew aboard the space yacht, New Orleans, in search of the rare ruguian eggs that are required to make the antidote. Tibby arrives at Alle Bamma only to discover that the Brotherhood has established bases and drug labs on the planet for processing the illicit drug called God's Sweat and that they have enslaved the indigenous natives to harvest and process the drug. In order to save Kalana, Tibby and crew must defeat the Brotherhood, free the natives, find the ruguian eggs, and deal with a mysterious god entity called Thumumba.
