Toho Co., Ltd. has just announced the world premiere of a new theatrical production based on Studio Ghibli’s Oscar-winning film SPIRITED AWAY (original title: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi). This production will be the first ever stage adaptation of the 2001 animated masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki which became a massive box office hit in Japan and earned worldwide acclaim including Academy Award for Best Animated Feature of 2002.

Pear Theatre's 2018-19 season concludes with Noel Coward's Present Laughter, a frothy comedy about show business. Present Laughter, directed by Walter M. The Royal Shakespeare Company has today announced further casting for its forthcoming double-bill of Restoration plays, John Vanbrugh's The Provoked Wife and Thomas Otway's Venice Preserved. The Provoked Wife, directed by Phillip Breen, plays in repertoire from the 2 May 2019 with Venice Preserved, directed by Prasanna Puwanarajah, running from 24 May 2019 in the Swan Theatre.

Thursday Night Theater Club announce their cast of fourteen for The Elephant Man by playwright Bernard Pomerance.  Robyn Cohen is delighted to be at the helm with such a notable group of actors.   The production opens at El Portal Theatre. Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler, announced the cast of the first production of its 2018-19 Season: Universe Rushing Apart: Blue Kettle & Here We Go, two one-act plays by Caryl Churchill, directed by Bryn Boice. The production runs November 7-18 at the Black Box Theater, Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College in Wellesley.

Winner of 19 major accolades, including multiple Tony, Olivier and Drama Desk Awards, Stephen Daldry's (Billy Elliot, The Crown) multi award-winning production of J.B. Priestley's classic thriller An Inspector Calls will kick off a four-city U.S. tour at Shakespeare Theatre Company from November 20 through December 23, 2018.

After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. One of the UK's best-loved television stars, Ruth Jones, well known as the co-writer of the award-winning BBC comedy Gavin & Stacey in which she also appeared, will star in the new comedy The Nightingales, presented by Jenny Topper and Theatre Royal Bath Productions. The production, written by William Gaminara and directed by Christopher Luscombe, will run at Theatre Royal Bath from Wednesday 31 October to Saturday 10 November, with opening night for press on Wednesday 7 November before embarking on a tour to Cambridge, Cardiff, Chichester and Malvern prior to a West End transfer, with venue and dates to be announced.
