As Seattle's annual Pride celebrations get underway, the Museum of Pop Culture will open the touring exhibition Rise Up: Stonewall and the LGBTQ Rights Movement beginning June 26. Rise Up explores the cultural transformation that propelled an underground movement into an intrinsic element of who we are as a nation.
The shows are presented thanks to a partnership between MV Concert Series and The Loft. The Loft will undergo a six-figure renovation of the sound and lighting systems funded by the Martha’s Vineyard Concert Series, bringing a theatre experience to one of Oak Bluffs’ best hangouts. Sound engineers will map out the room and create a system specifically designed to bring professional concerts to the Loft. While much of the interior will look the same, the venue will have a new professional sound that transforms the entire experience.
HBO Max will also feature “Watch With Dad” trays across its Series and Movies Page, the HBO Hub and its Kids and Family Genre Page, including favored flicks and beloved series like “Daddy Day Care,” “Tenet,” the “Pink Panther” collection, “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Speed,” “Ford v. The U.S. trek--which was originally scheduled for May of 2020--runs from August 10 – October 16 and will also feature festival appearances by Dropkick Murphys and Rancid at Riot Fest in Chicago on September 18 and Aftershock in Sacramento on October 8.
