BWW Review: Jungle Theater's Production of the New Play ANNAPURNA is Gorgeous, Funny, Heart-Breaking, and Starkly PoeticBWW Review: Jungle Theater's Production of the New Play ANNAPURNA is Gorgeous, Funny, Heart-Breaking, and Starkly Poetic
by Jill Schafer - Sep 9, 2015

Annapurna is the tenth highest mountain in the world, named after the Hindu Goddess of nourishment. In the new play by Sharr White, Ulysses writes an epic poem about his ex-wife Emma in which he uses climbing Annapurna as an analogy for their long, complicated, fractured relationship. The revelation of the poem comes at the end of 90 minutes of taut, natural, funny, heart-breaking, real, beautiful dialogue between these two layered and well-defined characters. And you couldn't ask for two better actors than Angela Timberman and Terry Hempleman to play Emma and Ulysses. Everything about the Jungle's production of ANNAPURNA, from the set to the acting to the music to the direction to the costumes (or lack thereof), is gorgeous in a starkly realistic yet poetic kind of way. by Matt Tamanini - Sep 25, 2015

For some reason that I have yet to understand, there is apparently a considerable segment of the population that doesn't care for Anne Hathaway. I wouldn't consider myself a marked Hathaway fan, but after seeing THE INTERN, I challenge each and every one of the people that dislike her to see the movie and not walk out wishing that she was their boss/best friend. BWW Review: REALMS OF THE UNTOLD; Intriguing, if Not Fully-Realized Tales of TerrorBWW Review: REALMS OF THE UNTOLD; Intriguing, if Not Fully-Realized Tales of Terror
by Matt Tamanini - Oct 3, 2015

Just in time for Halloween, Orlando theatre production company Dark Side of Saturn introduces a new collection of short plays collectively titled REALMS OF THE UNTOLD. The show, written by Corey Volence (Orlando Fringe's KEY OF E), plays through October 10th at The Venue. Clearly inspired by classic horror and terror anthology series THE TWILIGHT ZONE, REALMS OF THE UNTOLD boasts six fairly intriguing premises; however, the execution of each, in terms of writing and performance, varies greatly from scene to scene. The vignettes are ultimately an enjoyable precursor to the rest of the spooky holiday attractions around town, but they don't rise to the goosebump-inspiring level that you would hope to find in a show subtitled 'Six Tales of the Strange and Macabre.'
