Full Lineup Announced for CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL at Victory Gardens Theater

Underscore Theatre Company is pleased to announce the full line-up for its third annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, featuring 14 new musical productions. Created to showcase and support Chicago's burgeoning field of musical theatre creators, this year's festival will be held August 9 - 28, 2016 at Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Each production will receive four performances - the full schedule of dates, times and press openings will be announced shortly. BWW Recap: GAME OF THRONES Raises Some Eyebrows in 'Book of the Stranger'

This week's episode of Game of Thrones just aired, entitled “Book of the Stranger,” a title that had little to do with the episode besides a not so subtle namedrop halfway through. This episode delivered more of what Thrones is seemingly becoming more about; shocks, deaths, quips and nudity, and less of what it originally was; a human and complex drama. Despite Game of Thrones insistence that this year, women will be “on top,” we were once again force fed faux-feminism doubling as “empowerment,” while it double downed on it's misogyny, racism, and plain nonsensical storytelling.
