Kansas City Repertory Theatre has announced the cast for Little Shop of Horrors, its final production of the 2011-12 season. The Rep's Associate Artistic Director Kyle Hatley will direct. He has also directed the Rep's productions of Circle Mirror Transformation, A Christmas Carol, The Borderland, Nathan Louis Jackson's Broke-ology, and he has appeared in The Whipping Man and The Glass Menagerie at the Rep. Hatley is a noted writer and director for the Kansas City Fringe Festival and is artistic director and co-founder of Chatterbox Audio Theater. (more...)

According to Ennis King, the older brother in Nathan Louis Jackson's Broke-ology that opens for previews at the Kitchen Theatre on April 4th and runs through April 22nd, he has developed a new scientific theory. As Ennis explains to his younger brother Malcolm, "Broke-ologyÂ…is a complex new science that examines two things. One, being broke. Two, staying alive despite your brokenness." Ennis and Malcolm are experts in Broke-ology, and their situation is complicated by their aging father William's quickening decline. Poverty, the American dream and the ties that bind a family together are brought into focus in this new play. (more...)
