Deadline.com has just announced that SPIDER-MAN's Bono and The Edge have recruited British record producer Steve Lillywhite to assist the creative team in working with the cast on the multi-million dollar mega-musical. Lillywhite has collaborated with U2 on 8 of their hit albums. Writes Deadline's Mike Flemming: 'I'm told that he's been a fixture this week at the Foxwoods Theatre, helping the cast with the songs penned by Bono and The Edge as they prepare for the February 7 opening...'

Michael Colh, lead producer on Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has revealed to the Wall Street Journal that the final version of the show's finale has yet to be incorporated into the show and has not yet been seen by anyone - himself included. Cohl tells the Journal: 'The actual ending that we have planned is still not in the show,' he said. 'Nobody's seen it - including us, by the way.' When asked if the show's February 7 opening date was still set, Cohl vaguely replied: 'It's life-I don't expect it to [change], but it's life.'

Back at Christmas, Newsday and Bloomberg were the first publications to release reviews of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, despite the fact that the show is not set to open until next month. But, in the words of Newsday critic Linda Winer: 'After four premiere push-backs (now to Feb. 7), four high-profile injuries, 19 previews at full price ($75-$150, almost double through brokers), and public investigations by state and federal safety agencies, it seems that critics are now the only interested parties who can't see the bride before the wedding.' Both the Newsday and Bloomberg reviews were lukewarm, with Bloomberg critic Jeremy Gerard noting: On the evidence of what I saw, the second act still has yet to be completed. We might expect more of a show that has been in the works for almost nine years.'

An above-average amount of rehearsals are still scheduled for SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark as under 30 days remain until the show's currently scheduling opening night of February 7, 2011. We're told that everyone is committed to ensuring that there's no further delays to that date as the show's official opening because the production is aware that will no doubt bring a flood of critics in.

Last Night, Christopher Tierney, the actor badly injured during the $65 million Broadway musical 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,' returned to the theater for the first time since his accident to watch the show.

Christopher Tierney was back at SPIDER-MAN evening, as an audience member. He told the press before the show that he believed in the production, and the crew, wasn't mad at anyone and was hoping to rejoin the show as soon as he possibly could. Before entering the theatre, he spoke to press and showed off his back brace.

Word has hit Twitter that tonight's performance of SPIDER-MAN was stopped at least twice. These malfuctions would be the latest in a long line of problems for the new musical, which began previews on Nov 28, 2010.

ROCK OF AGES star Constantine Maroulis has gone on the record about SPIDER-MAN, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Maroulis says, 'It was the most poetic, provocative and beautiful piece of theater I've seen in a long f---ing time. I realize theater is not a contact sport but they're in a fight, making art, creating something that's bigger than anything.'

SPIDER-MAN has yet another obstacle to overcome. According to Newsday, Bill de Blasio, public advocate of New York City, is campaigning for the Department of Consumer Affairs to make audience members aware that the very delayed show is in deed still not a finished product. De Blasio claims that the musical 'may be in violation of consumer protection laws,' because the show makes no mention that it is still in previews.
