Marc Shaiman and his partner Lou Mirabal were married today, at the end of Lieutenant Commander Mirabal's retirement ceremony, honoring his more than 20 years of service to our country. The wedding was officiated by Tom Kirdahy (The Visit, Mother and Sons) in New Jersey. Wedding guests included Bette Midler, Whoopi Goldberg, Julia Murney, Nathan Lane, Mark Sendroff, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Darlene Love and many others. Pictures from both ceremonies were uploaded to Instagram earlier today, and you can check them out below! On May 14, Marcus Roberts & The Modern Jazz Generation close out the "Katrina -10 Years On" concert series, dedicated to the spirit of the people who suffered from one of the worst hurricanes in history. In this concert Roberts, famous for his dazzling, virtuosic playing that taps the full range of the jazz piano tradition, unveils The Modern Jazz Generation, an ensemble that features his trio mates - Jason Marsalis on drums and Rodney Jordan on bass - and a number of next generation jazz greats. Frederick Fichman Releases VISIT THE ZOO

2016 National Festival of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Begins Next Week

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 150 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 12-16, 2016 in multiple locations throughout the Center. Thousands of student artists from eight regions across the country presented their work at regional festivals from January 5 through February 27, 2016 and more than 150 were selected to travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the national festival. Houston Ballet Heading to Los Angeles This Fall

Distinguished American choreographer William Forsythe has selected Houston Ballet to perform in Los Angeles at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Oct. 21-23, as part of "Celebrate Forsythe", a program with a never-before-seen approach that salutes his works.  Houston Ballet will perform Artifact Suite, after its September premiere in Houston, a piece that both deconstructs and reconstructs the rules of traditional ballet.
