Continuing its focus on New York-based artists across generations, the 2015 Festival will feature short works by 50 emerging and established dance makers, all of whom DANCENOW has presented over the last twenty years. Set in 1973, in the formative years of the ecology movement, Project Ahab converts Moby Dick, Melville's classic story of a man Bent on killing a whale, to that of a man determined to stop the killing of whales; or, 'Ahab goes after the whalers.' This prestigious festival features new musicals, which have been developed across the country, presented in concert readings. This year's festival features six musicals, presented in two venues over two weekends: August 21-23 at New Musicals Inc., 5628 Vineland in North Hollywood and August 28-30 at 3D Theatricals, 1255 N.
