The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Georgetown University will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a free, ticketed musical tribute, the Let Freedom Ring Celebration. The annual program, part of the Center’s Millennium Stage free daily performance series, features Leslie Odom, Jr.

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, many are looking forward to spending time with family and friends, taking a well-deserved break from work and school. Besides indulging in the wonderful food associated with this national holiday, families, children, and individuals like me are looking forward to waking up at 9am to watch Macy’s 95th Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast live from New York City. Unlike last year, where in-person viewing was prohibited to avoid the spread of COVID-19, spectators are returning to attend this year’s version of a time-honored tradition. With a huge live audience again, I am personally excited to watch and experience the tangible excitement as the crowds witness the parading of larger than life balloons, precise marching bands, and of course, incredible singers, dancers, and Broadway casts.

City Theater in Biddeford is getting into the holiday spirit with this beloved classic. Be part of the studio audience for this live musical radio play adapted from the original 1947 Lux Radio Broadcast. This story of the last-minute replacement for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade who claims to be the real Kris Kringle is sure to melt the most cynical of hearts and is destined to become a highlight of the holiday season.

The whole family can expect to be entranced once more by the production's lavish scenes and costumes, from the Victorian Christmas party to the Kingdom of Sweets, as world-class professional dancers perform alongside pre-professional and student performers.
