BWW Review: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? The BEAST is a Riot at Sydney Opera House
by Brodie Paparella - Aug 8, 2016

The only thing missing was the cow being in labour. Practically an episode of Packed to the Rafters if it were guest-written by Seth MacFarlane, The Beast brought together three pouty but no less gorgeous gals, the Australian Zachary Quinto, a True North reject and I'm pretty sure the guy from Wolf Creek along with playwright who's the playwright, don't forget he's so talented he's the playwright who wrote this between kissing Kat Stewart on the nose a lot in Offspring, Eddie Penultimate. If you're gunning to be the godparents of your Best Friend's children, take them to see this! It's bloodthirsty and backward, really gets to the core of humanity: Hipster nonsense. (more...)

Being that we are in tech week, ourselves, at The Comedy of Errors, this article could not be more relevant. Here we go! (more...)

With the start of a new semester right around the corner, I began thinking about the new technicians and design students who are starting their freshman year at Auburn. I have compiled a list of tips that I wish I'd had on my first day. (more...)

BWW Review: TINK! Soars Beyond Neverland
by Juan Michael Porter II - Aug 10, 2016

'OMG! Mom and Dad are being such phonies, so I'm going to run away and marry a pirate. Before you think about that too much, let me distract you with this show-stopping production number!' Actually 'TINK!' wasn't as vacuous as all that, though - true to the exclamation point in its title - it did tend to deliver narrative details in bold plot points. Still, Tony Marino's barrel-of-laughs filled book, aided by Lena Gabrielle's tuneful score, with an assist from Greg Kerestan on lyrics ensured that 'TINK!' stood out as one of the more delectable treats in this year's New York Musical Festival smorgasbord. Author David R. Hardiman to Sign Books at Lake Dallas Public Library, Today
by BWW News Desk - Aug 10, 2016

David R. Hardiman, author of 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan,' will sign books at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Lake Dallas Public Library in Lake Dallas, Texas. His Christian and inspirational autobiography shares how he endured a lifetime of illness and other challenges alone before Bailey - a shih tzu - became his Best Friend, service dog and hero. Because Bailey must go everywhere with Hardiman to provide assistance, she will attend the signing event and offer her paw signature on the books. 'My story, our story, is full of struggle, prejudice and pain,' Hardiman said. 'But it also includes healthy doses of perseverance, love and triumph.' Hardiman of Arlington, Texas, was born with a rare medical condition that eluded diagnosis for decades, and he developed post-traumatic stress disorder late in life. Bailey senses when Hardiman is about to have an attack, and she alerts him and helps him deal with the horror. 'Bailey works hard every day to help me function in the world, and she is a gift from God to me,' Hardiman said. 'Not all service dogs are Labrador retrievers.' 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan' (Brown Books Publishing Group) cautions against judging people whose disabilities aren't obvious. Hardiman doesn't look like he has disabilities, but the challenges he faces are real. His book also provides some information about laws that protect people who rely on service dogs. 'Bailey and I have been told to leave malls and other public places because people mistake her for a pet,' Hardiman said. 'They aren't familiar with the laws that protect the use of service dogs.' Librarian Tina Hager said a hardcover of 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan' will be added to the library's collection. 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan' is family friendly and suitable for adults and children. In addition to signing copies of 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan,' Hardiman will read 'Move Over, Rover!' by Karen Beaumont to children attending the library's Family Booktivities program that day. The program starts at 11:15 a.m., and it also includes songs and crafts. The library is at 302 S. Shady Shores Road. For information, go to http://www.lakedallas.com/387/Lake-Dallas-Public-Library. Hardcovers of 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan' are available by going to http://www.baileysremarkableplan.com. To receive autographed copies before or after the signing event in Lake Dallas, send emails to baileysremarkableplan@gmail.com. Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other online retailers also offer 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan.' (more...)

BWW Review: PPT'S Marvelous THE FULL MONTY Presents More Than Eye Candy
by Peggy Sue Dunigan - Aug 1, 2016

'Everything which is necessary, the entire thing, the whole shebang.' This was the original meaning of the British slang term 'the full monty,' before the 1997 British film of the same name. At Peninsula Players (PPT) in August 2016, everything which is necessary, the whole shebang, appears on stage in their marvelous production of The Full Monty. Ever since the 1997 British version heralded this cult classic term, these words have transformed in meaning to mean, 'full nudity.' Which is exactly the meaning Terrence McNally, (book), and David Yazbek (lyrics and music) displayed in their 2000 adaptation musical production reset in Buffalo, New York and applies to six unemployed steel workers. Or named in an alternate title completely reality, 21st century: Desperate Men, Desperate Moves, Desperate Mania. (more...)
