Music Box Theatre to Screen MARY POPPINS, Offer SAVING MR. BANKS Sneak Peek, 12/4

Music Box Theatre announces a free sneak preview of the new Disney film Saving Mr. Banks, starring Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks, on Wednesday, December 4, 8 p.m., 3733 N. Southport Avenue. Immediately before the premiere, at 5:30 p.m., the Music Box is proud to screen the magical Julie Andrews-Dick Van Dyke musical Mary Poppins, the making of which inspired Saving Mr. Banks. Guests have the rare opportunity to see the Academy Award-winning 1964 classic on the big screen, then learn the story that unfolded behind the scenes. As the festive month of December approaches, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Pacific Symphony and Pacific Chorale ring in the season with a cornucopia of holiday shows. The Center presents three yuletide concerts, including the return of Fiesta Navidad with Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano (December 4), the Center debut of The Beach Boys performing their Christmas show (December 7) and American vocal ensemble The Manhattan Transfer entertaining with holiday favorites (December 16).

American Repertory Ballet will be celebrating its 50th Annual Nutcracker Season throughout downtown Princeton. American Repertory Ballet's 50th Annual Nutcracker Season will come to McCarter Theatre Thanksgiving weekend: Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 7:00pm; Friday, November 29 at 1:00pm and 4:30pm; and Saturday, November 30 at 1:00pm and 4:30pm. Directly following the 4:30pm performance on November 30, at 6:30pm, American Repertory Ballet will hold a celebratory reception at The Nassau Club in Princeton.

They all have been touched, in some way, by the inimitable promoter, agent and manager extraordinaire, Sid Bernstein. Mr. Bernstein passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in New York City, said his longtime friend, publicist Merle Frimark.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, October 24 through November 23, 2013. The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. Other Festival components include: a panel discussion focused on the subject of time, pre- and post-performance artist discussions, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges.
