Signature Theatre will present an evening of cocktails and a special one-night-only concert starring one of Broadway's living legends, Betty Buckley, on Monday, September 30 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W. 42nd Street) to support the Legacy Program in honor of Horton Foote. Buckley will be singing some of musical theatre's most iconic songs, including songs she's sung in her sold-out national concert appearances. Tickets start at $150 for both the pre-show cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. and the concert at 7:30 p.m. A limited number of $75 concert only tickets are now available. The Metropolitan Opera has announced the addition of three new composers to its Met/LCT New Works Program. Matthew Aucoin, David T. Little, and Joshua Schmidt, three critically heralded young composers, have signed on to develop new operas through the program, which allows gifted composers and librettists to workshop new material for the opera and music theater stages, using the resources of the Met and Lincoln Center Theater. Nico Muhly's Two Boys, workshopped through the program, will have its North American premiere at the Met on October 21. (more...)

Signature Theatre has announced the World Premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist Will Eno's new play THE OPEN HOUSE. THE OPEN HOUSE will be directed by Oliver Butler, who is a founding member and co-Artistic Director of The Debate Society. The production runs February 11 through March 23, 2014 with a March 3, 2014 opening night in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Hollis Resnik Leads Milwaukee Rep's END OF THE RAINBOW Tonight

Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced today that multi-award-winning actor Hollis Resnik will perform the lead role in End of the Rainbow, a theatrical homage to the late, great Judy Garland. An accomplished stage, television and film actor, Resnik brings the depth of acting and musical experience to portray the iconic Garland as well as the emotional intensity and high energy that the role demands. The highly acclaimed show NOTHING TO HIDE, produced by Werner Entertainment and Ostar Productions, has recouped its full $400,000 capitalization costs in only eight weeks of performances. NOTHING TO HIDE, which plays in a 150-seat house, has already grossed over $1 million in ticket sales. This is a remarkable achievement for an off-Broadway show.
