Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will host nine weeklong in-person residencies for 23 musical theatre writers of nine new musicals between June 27 and August 29.  Writers include Tony-nominee Beth Malone, Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls; Jonathan Larson winners Avi Amon, Sara Cooper, Ty Defoe, and Anna Jacobs and more.

BAM's DanceAfrica will continue its celebration with special Memorial Day weekend programs, including A Return: Liberation as Power (May 24—31), featuring six Haitian visual artists’ meditation on liberation; a special “for teens by teens” event Haiti In Full Scope—exploring the history, art, and culture of Haiti, and more.

Yet, even with the hardships this theatre has gone through, and the uncertainty of the future, all involved with WHILE THE LIGHTS WERE OUT made sure to go out on that stage and give it their all. They rose up, like a David to the mighty Goliath, to deliver entertainment for an audience that strives for it.

On Saturday, May 8, Emerson College honored alumni with its Distinguished Alumni Award and Young Alumni Achievement Award in a virtual celebration during its first annual Emerson Week, a college-wide, fully online, multi-day event for all Emersonians, formerly alumni weekend.

The Southbank Centre today announces a four-month reopening programme, Summer Reunion - providing opportunities for people to reconnect, reunite and enjoy a colourful, joyful celebration of art, culture and entertainment.

The Festival will take place in venues across the city and county, as well as at the newly reopened Festival Gardens where a brand-new Festival music weekend is announced in collaboration with Wild Paths - Garden Sessions. Get ready to fly high at the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre's summer musical, opening this weekend. Following up from last year's crowd-pleasing and high-energy production of NEWSIES, this year's fare is the family-friendly CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, based on the beloved 1968 film and with music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.

DECADES TV Network will honor the life and career of late Hollywood legend Doris Day with a weekend binge of The Doris Day Show. Starting Saturday, May 25 at 1:00PM ET, DECADES will present 68 episodes of the beloved sitcom airing back to back through Monday, May 27 at 7:00AM ET.

The Celebrity Series of Boston announced its 2019-2020 season today, marking 81 years of bringing the world's greatest performing artists to Boston.

The Center for the Arts at George Mason University announced today the 2019/2020 season of Great Performances at Mason, its annual series featuring leading national and international artists in the disciplines of classical music, opera, jazz, ballet, modern dance, theater, and global music and dance. The Center also announced the return of the Family Series, offering its second season of affordable programming for young audiences.

The Albany Symphony today announced the 2019 American Music Festival, Sing Out! New York, a bold two-weekend national festival and regional tour of musical performances and new art happenings, taking place in renowned concert venues in Troy and in public parks throughout New York State's Capital Region.  Sing Out! New York kicks off on Thursday, May 30 with First Draughts Reading Session & Beer Tasting and runs through Sunday, June 2 in Troy, then embarks on a four-concert tour of the greater Capital Region on Thursday, June 6,2019.

Houston Ballet Academy will host a Character Workshop led by Master Character Dance Teacher Tom Bosma, as a part of the Academy's new Weekend Workshop series. Dance teachers will have the opportunity to learn the basics of character dance and will gain knowledge of the musical background of European dances including Polka, Waltz, Czardas, Krakowiak, Polonaise and Mazurka.
