Over the last four decades, the British filmmaker Terence Davies has produced a deeply personal body of work that explores the longing inspired by movie fantasy and the intermingling of memory and history. Coinciding with the U.S. theatrical release of his latest film, Sunset Song, based on the classic Scottish novel by Lewis Grassic Gibbons, about a farming family caught in the aftermath of World War I, Museum of the Moving Image will present a complete retrospective, to date, of the films of Terence Davies from May 7 through 22, 2016. Davies will appear in person at the Museum on two occasions: on May 8 with The Long Day Closes and on May 10 with a preview screening of Sunset Song, accompanied by the film's star Agyness Deyn.
The Tony Award-winning Drama Book Shop is honored to welcome stage and screen legend Joel Grey on Monday, April 25th at 5:00pm. The actor will discuss his newly released memoir Master of Ceremonies with Drama Book Shop Events Manager Steven Carl McCasland, including a Q&A with the audience. The event, in the Arthur Seelen Theatre downstairs, will be followed by signing on the main floor of the shop. Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent.

Building on the successes of Made in Northampton 2014, Royal & Derngate's Artistic Director James Dacre today announced details of his second season: Made in Northampton 2015.

Mint Theater's new production, London Wall by John Van Druten, featuring Julia Coffey, Katie Gibson, Matthew Gumley, Jonathan Hogan, Laurie Kennedy, Elise Kibler, Stephen Plunkett, Christopher Sears, and Alex Trow will now continue through April 26th at Mint's home (311 West 43rd Street). This is the American premiere of John Van Druten's "rivetingly entertaining" (The Guardian) romantic drama, which opened Monday February 24th. Davis McCallum, who staged the 2012 Pulitzer-Prize winning play Water by the Spoonful at Second Stage, as well as the award-winning production of The Whale at Playwrights Horizons, directs.
