Here For Now Theatre Company is bringing the world premiere of Mark Weatherley's (Framed, Lighthouse/HFN) new play Whack! to Stratford this October.

Jenny Lyn Bader will perform her solo play Equally Divine: The Real Story of the Mona Lisa in the 10th Annual United Solo Festival on Thursday, October 24th at 9:00pm. Directed by Julie Kramer, the performance takes place at the Studio Theatre on Theatre Row, at 410 W. 42nd St.

You know Scott Joplin is a genius, but having that conformed by this wonderful, uplifting, yet shocking opera, is a delight and a privilege. Beautifully performed too.

Shepard Hills Golf Club will present Comedy Under the Stars with headliners Mary Dimino and Vinnie Mark. The show is scheduled for the Event Center Friday August 30th.

The team behind 2016's acclaimed production of Tennessee Williams' rarely-seen Kingdom of Earth, is back - this time, with Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire. Jack Heller directs Susan Priver (down-on-her-luck showgirl Myrtle in Kingdom of Earth, LA Weekly award-winning The Lover by Harold Pinter) as Blanche DuBois and Max E. Williams (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., numerous productions with Elephant Theatre Company) as Stanley Kowalski in a visiting production at the Odyssey Theatre presented by Dance On Productions in association with Linda Toliver and Gary Guidinger. Passions flare and cultures collide in the sultry streets of New Orleans beginning May 25, with performances continuing though July 7.

Baruch Performing Arts Center, along with New York-based theater company Blessed Unrest and Teatri ODA of Kosovo, will co-present the World Premiere of Refuge from April 25 - May 11 @ 7:30, with a variable weekly schedule and a 5pm performance Sun May 5 (Opening Night April 27) at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (25 Street between Third and Lexington Avenues), NYC. 

Theater J, the nation's largest and most prominent Jewish theater, continues its signature Yiddish Theater Lab with readings of two plays in May. The plays are The Rented Bridegroom by Rinne Groff (adapted from a play by Osip Dymov) on May 6 at Foundry Church and Yankl the Blacksmith by David Pinski on May 20 at the Goethe-Institut. These readings follow the first full production of the Yiddish Theater Lab,

Maggie Smith returns to the stage for the first time in twelve years in A German Life, a new play by Christopher Hampton drawn from the life and testimony of Brunhilde Pomsel (1911-2017). Maggie Smith, alone on stage, plays Brunhilde Pomsel. Directed by Jonathan Kent, A German Life runs for five-weeks until 11 May with all performances at 7.30pm. Design is by Anna Fleischle, lighting by Jon Clark with sound by Paul Groothuis.

The full cast is announced for the Theatr Clwyd and Menier Chocolate Factory co-production of Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending. Parson's Nose Theater (PNT), the acclaimed, Los Angeles' professional, classical comedy theater company, kicks off their 2018-19 season with "Mark Twain and Friends: A River Journey. This is an original play by Los Angeles playwright and actor, Greg White. The production is partly sponsored by the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Department. It begins the second season in their new home, an intimate, historic chapel designed by esteemed Pasadena architects Marston and Van Pelt in 1911.

Computers weren't always machines. In the late 1800's, computers were women astronomers who 'computed' data to map the sky. They were only allowed to work from photographic plates, since only men were allowed to look through the telescope at the Harvard College Observatory. Henrietta Leavitt (1868-1912) was one of these 'computers,' and the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company is celebrating her 150th birthday by presenting the New Jersey premiere of 'Silent Sky.'

It's a classically-styled cinematic pose. The kind that tends to define a certain era of film noir. A woman stands alone on the Coney Island boardwalk on a chilly day. Covered in a tan trench coat, belt tied at the waist, she stares out at the ocean. After a few moments, emotions sweep over her and she begins to cry.

"Author, Composer, Soldier-of-a-Sort" is Jan Carey's first play to be staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The production opens on Saturday 4 August at The Pleasance at 14.00, following previews from Wednesday 1 August and runs until Monday 27 August.

Theater (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director) will present the New York Premiere of Miles Malleson's political love story Conflict. Performances will begin May 25th and continue through July 21st at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is set for June 21st.
