BWW Reviews: Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT Blows Houston Away
by David Clarke - Mar 22, 2014

Unable to see AMERICAN IDIOT in New York City, I am so happy that the Third National Tour finally brought the show to Houston, TX. This lively, youthful cast owns every moment of this explosive and exhilarating AMERICAN IDIOT, and I can't imagine any other cast performing this rollicking, raucous piece as well as they do. Every human on the stage gives this show everything they can, and the end result is something I'll cherish for years to come.

BWW Reviews: OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD Extols the Virtues of Theater
by Jeff Davis - Oct 25, 2013

It should be no surprise that as a lover of theater, I firmly believe in the transitive power of the performing arts. Any production has the power to elicit some emotional response from the audience, but theater often does more. Studies have shown that participating in the performing arts helps students improve their performance in other academic areas. While the impact of the arts in schools is widely known, the use and impact of theater and the arts in prison systems is somewhat less talked about. Nevertheless, theater has been used by penile systems for centuries as a way to rehabilitate prisoners, and that unorthodox idea is at the core of Our Country's Good, now playing at UT-Austin. The infrequently produced Tony nominated play, written by Timberlake Wertenbaker, is a completely engrossing love letter to the virtues of theater and a thrilling depiction of a peculiar moment in Australian history.

'Experience Design' Helps Business and Design Firms
by Christina Mancuso - Sep 10, 2013

As more and more businesses look to tap into the power of design, two of the founders of an award-winning global design firm challenge the foundation on which business and design collaborate. In a newly released book 'Experience Design: A Framework for Integrating Brand, Experience, and Value,' authors Patrick Newbery and Kevin Farnham argue that in order to be successful, businesses need to engage customers through value, not just look and feel, and this requires a different approach from both sides-business managers and designers.
