Gilded Balloon has announced over 170 new shows for Fringe 2023. Housed across three major venue hubs and at The Queen's Hall, the announcement marks a triumphant return to the festival showcasing a line up of unmissable live entertainment.

Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (May 19–June 10), one of opera's most beloved works, receives its first new Met staging in 19 years from acclaimed English director Simon McBurney. In his Met debut, McBurney lets loose a volley of theatrical flourishes, incorporating projections, aerial and sound effects, physical comedy, a hovering platform, and acrobatics to match the spectacle and drama of Mozart's work. Maestro Nathalie Stutzmann—having made her Met debut earlier this season with Don Giovanni—performs Mozart double duty leading both productions running simultaneously. With the pit raised, the Met Orchestra musicians will interact with the cast. Gareth Morrell conducts the May 27 performance.

TimeLine Theatre Company, acclaimed for presenting plays that explore today's social and political issues through the lens of the past, has announced its 27th season. The company's 2023-24 subscription season will launch in September with the previously announced Chicago premiere of the internationally acclaimed THE LEHMAN TRILOGY presented at Broadway In Chicago's Broadway Playhouse.

The little OPERA theatre of ny (LOTNY) will present American One Acts, a double bill, conducted by Gregory Hopkins and directed by Philip Shneidman, from May 31 - June 4, 2023 at Baruch Performing Arts Center.

The long-awaited Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Live at the Fillmore (1997) is out now. Taken from their legendary residency at the historic San Francisco venue, the extensive box set is available now in various formats on Warner Records. The box features a bold acoustic version of “American Girl” with Petty singing along.

Wasatch Theatre Company continues its 25th season with DREAMERS, an original script by Ariana Broumas Farber that marks a collaboration with new theatre group Immigrant’s Daughter. 

“The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man,” a newly published memoir by Paul Newman, will be the topic of a book discussion, “An Afternoon with Melissa Newman,” at Westport Country Playhouse, on Sunday, November 20, at 3 p.m., presented by Darien's Barrett Bookstore.

Wendy Kesselman’s new adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank – which is based upon the acclaimed 1955 play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and is an update of her 1997 script which has been widely produced since – is given a superb world premiere production by Nashville Children’s Theatre, which adds luster to the original work and makes it more accessible to contemporary audiences in director Ernie Nolan’s new iteration onstage through October 2.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere musical, Goddess. The musical stage production is conceived and directed by Saheem Ali, music and lyrics by Michael Thurber, and written by Jocelyn Bioh. Previews begin Saturday, August 13, and the show runs through Sunday, September 25.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announced its 52nd season, featuring six plays and musicals to be presented November 2022 through August 2023. Three of the season's productions will be mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and three will be staged at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. 1812 Productions is cooking up the world premiere of acclaimed actress and artist Bi Jean Ngo's IN SEARCH OF THE KITCHEN GODS. The original solo show, created by Ngo and directed by Makoto Hirano, takes audience members through a culinary journey through Ngo's Vietnamese American identity, aided and abetted by the Kitchen Gods.

Young love and secrets, set against the backdrop of the enchanting city of Florence, Italy, takes center stage at California Center for the Arts, Escondido with the multi-award-winning musical The Light in the Piazza from June 17-25 in the Center Theater. HartBeat Ensemble announced today the world premiere production of Saviana Stanescu's Bee Trapped Inside The Window. Set in a wealthy suburb in Connecticut, this intimate drama focuses on the interwoven stories of a Russian émigré, her biracial daughter, and an Asian-American cleaning woman who has been trafficked into domestic service.

The 2022 Fall Season will feature Cimarosa's The Secret Marriage, along with a production of the Sarasota Youth Opera, Dean Burry's The Secret World of Og. Opening the 2023 Winter Opera Festival on February 18 will be Puccini's Madama Butterfly, followed by Mozart's Don Giovanni, Verdi's Ernani, and Massenet's Thérèse.

Bill Acosta was known as the Man of 1,001 voices, headlining on the stages on the Las Vegas Strip, including the Luxor and Flamingo, and thousands of performances in many other venues. Bill passed away on Jan. 26, and a celebration of his life will be held at the Italian American Club on March 26.
