Free Acting Class Offered at Theater in the Square

On Saturday, September 10, 2011, Theatre in the Square will open the doors to any who has ever thought they have what it takes to be on stage for a FREE acting class. We will be offering the free one-hour class for ages 7-15 at 10 a.m. and for ages 16 and up at 11:30 a.m. Participants are in for a real treat as the free class will take place on the Main Stage at Theatre in the Square. Anyone who attends the free class can have the $25 application fee waived for the fall classes by registering after the free class. (more...)

Hurricane Irene Floods Weston Playhouse; SAINT-EX Reopens 9/2

The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company opened the world premiere of Saint-Ex, a dazzling new musical about the life of author/aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (The Little Prince) last week, but because of flooding from Hurrican Irene, the production has been temporarily shut down. The theatre's website states: 'The Weston Playhouse has sustained damage from 5 feet of water which flooded the ground floor. ? Deadline.com reports this morning that filming for Woverine 2, the sequel to the successful X Men franchise starring Hugh Jackman, may be pushed back to the spring of 2012 due to location scouting issues. The film had been tentatively scheduled to film in Japan this fall, however weather conditions have made securing locations difficult. The operation may now move to Canada instead. (more...)
