Fair Lawn's Old Library Theatre Invites Submissions for 2nd Annual One-Act Play Festival '4x4'

Fair Lawn Recreation Department's resident theatre company Old Library Theatre invites submissions for its 2nd Annual Original One Act Play Festival, "4x4." Four original one act plays will be produced and performed on OLT's stage in February 2013. Submission criteria is as follows: All plays must be complete, one act works, running 15-30 minutes, with six or fewer characters. No musicals, please. Plays will be mounted with no budget, though they will be fully staged with minimal, necessary sound and lighting. (more...)

Fusion Specialties, Inc. Announces First Mannequin Design Competition

Fusion Specialties, Inc. is pleased to announce the Mannequin Design Competition for students. Design students are invited to participate in a contest exploring the world of mannequin design through the eyes of a singular brand. Winning designs will be showcased at 2013 GlobalShop in Chicago and in DDI magazine among other venues. The grand prizewinner will see his or her designs sculpted and manufactured in full size; the winning collection will be displayed in the Fusion booth at GlobalShop 2013 and also highlighted at a jcpenney store in the New York City area. Burbank's Colony Theatre Launches Emergency 'Save the Colony' Campaign

According to Steve Julian, The Colony Theatre in Burbank, Calif., has just announced an emergency 'Save the Colony' campaign in order to remain open. Founded in 1975, the theatre has been producing shows for 37 years. The Colony must raise $49,000 in less than two weeks, plus $500,000, including pledges, by the end of the year to stay afloat. As BroadwayWorld first reported, a reading is currently taking place for SOAP DISH THE MUSICAL, directed by Rob Ashford, with a book by Robert Harling, music by George Stiles and Lyrics by Anthony Drewe. The cast of includes Kristin Chenoweth, John Stamos, Jane Krakowski, Cristin Milioti, Anne L. Nathan, Michael Park, Miriam Shor and Daniel Torres. At this time there has been no formal announcement, or set timetable for the show. The reading is being presented by Laurence Mark, Donald De Line and Broadway Across America. STAGE TUBE: Children's Theatre Company Catches 'The Grinch' on Camera

Sightings of a mysterious green figure wearing a Santa suit have been occurring throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul, and activity has been traced back to Children's Theatre Company (CTC) and its current tenant, The Grinch (Grinch). Photographs of Grinch creating chaos in CTC offices and the Whittier neighborhood were found by CTC staff on Monday, October 29. Surveillance camera footage confirms that Grinch has been sneaking around the Target lobby, stealing Dr. Seuss merchandise from kiosks.
