From September 12 through September 15, the Dramatists Guild of America hosted its second annual Chicago Fellowship Program at Northwestern University led by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, creators of Once On This Island, Seussical, and the recent Broadway revival of Ragtime. Now in its eleventh year (the first were held in New York), the Dramatists Guild Fellowship Program augments the training of emerging American dramatists and enhances the sense of community among them. Selected participants each contributed to planning and goal-setting sessions, master classes and discussions led by Ahrens, Flaherty and additional guests. (more...)

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN Transfers to West End, Opens 2 Feb!

Jonathan Church's new production of Singin' in the Rain is to transfer to the Palace Theatre following its critically acclaimed, sell-out run at Chichester Festival Theatre. Church's production of Singin' in the Rain, with choreography by Andrew Wright, is based on the classic 1952 MGM film and produced in the West End by Stage Entertainment UK and Chichester Festival Theatre, and is booking at the Palace Theatre from 4 February 2012, initially through to 29 September 2012. The production will open on TUESDAY 15 FEBRUARY, with tickets on public sale from MONDAY 26 SEPTEMBER 2011. (more...)

Antony Sher, reprising his role as Phillip Gellburg, and Tara Fitzgerald as Sylvia Gellburg will star in the Tricycle's critically acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's Olivier Award winning Broken Glass. Following a sell out run at the Tricycle Theatre in 2010, Broken Glass, directed by Iqbal Khan, will return for a limited season at the Tricycle from 10 August until 10 September, before transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre. The production will be directed by Northern Stage's Artistic Director Erica Whyman. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" will play at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre (Wednesday 16 March - Thursday 7 April) and then continue to Northern Stage (Tuesday 12 April - Saturday 30 April).
