Besides sharing what lucky attendees can expect from his 54 Below shows, Vereen also shares preliminary plans to bring a new biomusical to Broadway some season soon as well as the forthcoming release of a star-studded documentary all about his iconic show business legacy planned to be released later this year. Additionally, Vereen reflects on a number of recent milestones and looks back at some of his most memorable movie musical work in honor of the 45th anniversary of the release of SWEET CHARITY last month, plus the brand new Blu-ray editions of FUNNY LADY and ALL THAT JAZZ now available. Campbell St. in Arlington Heights. The one night only concert event will also star THE FOUR C NOTES, the Midwest's only Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tribute group. The song-filled evening will benefit Arlington Cares, a not-for-profit organization created to help raise money for the Village of Arlington Heights Emergency Assistance Fund. SCHMIDT are among the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 1, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Goldstein was selected to receive the 2015 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Schmidt will receive the Robert L.B. Toronto theatre-fans had a real treat last night when Rebecca Caine, the original Christine in Toronto's record-setting run of The Phantom of the Opera (1989-1999), visited SINGular Sensation at Statlers (487 Church St.) to perform a few songs and take in the local talent. Caine is also known for originating the role of Cosette in Les Miserables, as well as her many opera credits. At a press conference held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel this morning, representatives from Legend River Entertainment (Beijing) announced that they will produce a theatrical show, entitled "Pearl", based on the life of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Pearl S. Buck. This show is also being co-produced by an American company, Studiomusica USA. This story, which is familiar to both the Chinese and Western audiences, will be brought to life through the art of dance, highlighting the blending of two cultures and "East meets West" in abstract form. The show will run from August 27-30, 2015 at Lincoln Center in New York City. (more...)

The Midtown Men, the vocal group comprised of four stars from the Original Broadway Cast of Jersey Boys, will have their long awaited New York City Homecoming concert on June 20th, 2015 at New York's famed Beacon Theatre (2124 Broadway, NYC). After performing nearly 400 concerts across North America, the group's leading men, Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard, and Tony Award-nominee J. Robert Spencer will sing their celebrated arrangements of the greatest hits of the 1960s at the Beacon, their final show of this year's tour. (more...)

New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck will step into the role of 'Ivy Smith' in the new Broadway revival of On The Town this March for six performances only, while her fellow New York City Ballet principal dancer, and sister-in law, Megan Fairchild is on vacation. Peck will play the role at the following performances: March 3rd at 7pm, March 4th at 2pm and 8pm, March 14th at 2pm and 8pm, and March 15th at 3pm. (more...)
