Sundance Institute announced today the members of the six juries awarding prizes at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, January 16-26 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Short Film Awards will be announced at a ceremony on January 21 at Park City's Jupiter Bowl. Feature film awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 25 in Park City, hosted by husband-and-wife duo Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally and livestreamed at www.sundance.org/live. Offerman headlines the film Nick Offerman: American Ham in the Festival's Premieres section. Mullally voices a character in the English-language version of Ernest and Celestine, which will have its world premiere in the Festival's new Sundance Kids section. (more...)

Steve Letarte Joins NBC Sports Group's NASCAR Coverage Team

NBC Sports Group's upcoming NASCAR coverage continues to take shape as another prominent figure from the sanctioning body's elite series joins NBC and NBCSN's expanding broadcast team. Current Hendrick Motorsports crew chief Steve Letarte, who once stood at the helm of Jeff Gordon's famed No. 24 race team, and now leads the crew behind the ultra-popular No. 88 car driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., has reached an agreement to join NBC's multi-platform NASCAR coverage beginning in 2015. The announcement was made today by Sam Flood, Executive Producer, NBC Sports and NBCSN, and will be discussed in further detail at a Media Conference scheduled for 8:30 AM ET tomorrow at Daytona International Speedway. Since 1918, it has been sharing the Gospel in solidarity with the poor throughout the world. Park reported net earnings of $4,721,000 for the third quarter ended December 1, 2013 compared to net earnings before special items of $5,109,000 for the third quarter of last fiscal year. During the third quarter ended November 25, 2012, the Company recorded pre-tax restructuring charges of $559,000 in connection with the closure of its Nelco Technology (Zhuhai FTZ) Ltd. facility located in the Free Trade Zone in Zhuhai, China and its Park Advanced Composite Materials, Inc. facility located in Waterbury, Connecticut. The Company incurred no additional charges in connection with these closures in the third quarter ended December 1, 2013. Accordingly, net earnings were $4,710,000 for the third quarter ended November 25, 2012. (more...)

Hugh Whitemore's play, Pack of Lies, opening at The Adobe Theater tonight, January 10th. Experienced director Joann Danella has chosen this tense drama, based on real events, to launch our 2014 season. She has previously directed 14 shows at The Adobe ranging from comedy (Belles, The Odd Couple) to serious (Proof, The Day They Shot John Lennon) to downright scary (Scotland Road), and has also worked at other local theaters for 15 years.
