Most American adults spend 40-plus hours per week at work, so the work environment is a fertile ground for wellness interventions. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the GENAVIX Wellness Network are partnering to address the weaknesses in many workplace wellness programs by using ACE Certified Health Coaches to deliver programs designed to give the individual the necessary education and experience to establish customized fitness, nutrition, stress management and behavior modification plans. Zahlreiche Stars gingen bei dieser Veranstaltung uber den roten Teppich vor dem traditionsreichen Winter Garden Theatre. Neben Rocky-Schopfer Sylvester Stallone kam viel Prominenz wie zum Beispiel der Regisseur James Cameron, Hollywoodstar Whoopi Goldberg oder Modeschopfer Ralph Lauren. Ein besonders sentimentales Zusammentreffen gab es zwischen Sylvester Stallone und Schauspieler Burt Young, der im Original Kinofilm von 1976 die Rolle des Paulie verkorperte. (more...)

Museum of the Moving Image and The European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) will present Panorama Europe, from Friday, April 4 through Sunday, April 13, a showcase of 17 contemporary European feature films and one program of short films. Known as Disappearing Act for its first five years, the newly re-named festival continues the mission of showcasing vital European filmmaking as distribution remains challenging for foreign language films in the United States. Panorama Europe gives New York audiences access to what may be their only chance to see these acclaimed films from the festival circuit on the big screen or at all. This year's festival will take place at Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria and at the Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan. The American Theatre Wing announced today that the recipients of the 2014 Jonathan Larson Grants are writing team Sara Cooper (lyricist/bookwriter) & Zach Redler (composer), receiving $12,500 and the Running Deer Residency; and Shaina Taub (composer/lyricist), receiving $12,500. The prestigious grants, totaling $15,000 more than last year's grants, will be presented on Monday, April 7, 2014 at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space. Beginning Sunday, March 23 and continuing each consecutive Sunday through April 13, Asolo Rep will present its fifth annual Unplugged play festival. The Things They Carried by Worthington native Tim O'Brien in the award winning novel about the Vietnam War seen through the eyes of an American soldier. Scapegoat Carnivale Theatre, in collaboration with the MAI (Montreal, arts interculturels), willpresent the world premiere of this significant new work, Blind. Playwright Lindsay Wilson, affected by an article about people with albinism in East Africa being hunted and violently murdered for their body parts, boarded a plane to Tanzania to volunteer and observe. This resulted in Blind, a new play directed by Alison Darcy which will be performed at the MAI from April 3-13. At its heart, Blind reflects our current climate- the debate around the 'different other'. Throughout the run donations will be raised for Under the Same Sun, a charity working to improve the lives of people with albinism. (more...)

Overlooking their summer home on the Esplanade, Boston Landmarks Orchestra staff, board, sponsors, and partners gathered yesterday morning (albeit snowy) at the Goethe-Institut where Music Director Christopher Wilkins revealed the 2014 collaborative and inclusive civic celebrations of music and programs in Boston's neighborhood. This summer's free concerts at the DCR's Hatch Shell selections are inspired by a wonderful range of the world's musical traditions.
