Shenandoah Revival 1979

Tidewater Players is performing the Tony and Grammy award winner, Beautiful, The Carole King Musical at the Cultural Center at the Opera House on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from September 22nd to October 1st, 2023.

The Atlanta Opera has announced that five creative teams have been selected to participate in the second annual 96-Hour Opera Project, a composition competition and showcase that pairs composers and librettists to write ten-minute operas. Bringing their completed works to Atlanta, the teams will workshop and rehearse their productions over four days from June 9–12, with travel, housing, singers, pianists and rehearsal space provided.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

VIOLETA ANGELOVA, YVES DE BOUTEILLER, KEITH LEE AND IAN POULIS will be members of the faculty for the Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Intensive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ms. Angelova and Mr. de Bouteiller will be teaching from June 3-7, 2019, and Mr. Lee and Mr. Poulis will be teaching from June 10-14, 2019.

The Nora Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Alan Brody's The Midvale High School Fiftieth Reunion from June 1 - July 2, 2017. The Midvale High School Fiftieth Reunion is directed by Lee Mikeska Gardner. The press performance is Monday, June 5 at 7:30PM.

Masterworks Chorale opens its twelfth concert season on September 27, 3:00 pm, at the Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts. David Wills, who plays famed Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi, and Marianne Green, who plays his wife, have performed regionally and internationally for decades. This will mark their third time performing as each other's opposites since first sharing the stage in 1979 when they were cast in the musical 'Shenandoah.'
