A new version of A Little Princess, a musical written by Brian Crawley (book/lyrics) and Andrew Lippa (music) will premiere at Texas State University Oct 16-19. The final performance will be live streamed on the web for audiences across the country on Oct 19th according to director Kaitlin Hopkins, who also heads the Musical Theatre program at Texas State. Texas Music Theatre to Feature Live Stream of A LITTLE PRINCESS, 10/19

A new version of A Little Princess, the beloved children's book from 1905 written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, will premiere at the Texas Music Theatre on the historic San Marcos square from October 16th - 19th. The final performance of this special event will be live streamed on the internet on October 19th. This will allow musical theater fans across the country to experience this new musical according to director and star Kaitlin Hopkins who also heads the Musical Theatre Program at Texas State University. Andrew Lippa, the composer/lyricist for the upcoming Addams Family, will be the featured guests on Seth's Broadway Chatterbox this evening, Thursday, March 11 at 6pm. Seth's Broadway Chatterbox is a one hour weekly talk show at Don't Tell Mama (343 West 46th Street), hosted by Seth Rudetsky. Susan Stroman to Direct Broadway-Bound BIG FISH Musical Adaptation

The New York Times reports today that Susan Stromen will direct a musical adaptation of Tim Burton's film, Big Fish. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Hugh Jackman and Laura Benanti recently participated in a reading of the show. The musical is aiming for a spring 2012 Broadway opening. No word from the Times if either Jackman or Benanti are confirmed for the project. Additional creative team members have yet to be announced. (more...)

Well guess what? Winter has FINALLY arrived here on the California Central Coast! Now, what we call 'winter' is a bit different than what that word means in many other places. 'Winter' here means highs in the 50s, lows in the 30s, and rain. In some of the higher elevations to our north and south, they may even get some snow - but here on the heart of the Central Coast, it just gets a little cooler and wetter than usual, and not much more.
