Victory Gardens Announces Departure of Managing Director Christopher Mannelli

?Victory Gardens Theater today announces the departure of Managing Director Christopher Mannelli.  Mannelli has accepted a position as Executive Director of the Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, NY.  Mannelli will remain at Victory Gardens through February 26, 2016.  The board of directors has begun a national search for his successor.  (more...)

N.C. Symphony to Perform Beethoven's 'Emperor' Concerto This Month

The North Carolina Symphony, led by conductor Marcelo Lehninger, will perform Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto Thursday, Jan. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16, at 8 p.m., in Meymandi Concert Hall in the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.  In addition to the "Emperor" concerto, which features pianist Inon Barnatan, the program will include Brahms "Tragic Overture" and "Suspend," by Andrew Norman. Cast Announced for Windy City Playhouse's Chicago Premiere of THE EXPLORERS CLUB

Windy City Playhouse, Chicago's newest professional theater, launches 2016 with the Chicago premiere of Nell Benjamin's slapstick farce The Explorers Club, set in a Victorian-era scientific gentleman's club. David H. Bell directs Cristina Panfilio (Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Pericles) as a female anthropologist vying for membership. Alex Goodrich (Elf: The Musical), Ryan Imhoff (Chicago Shakespeare Theater's A Midsummer Night's Dream), Matt Browning (Redtwist's Incident at Vichy), Graham Emmons (Prologue's Porcelain), Dan Rodden (Theater at the Center's On Golden Pond) and Zack Shornick (MPAACT's Ghosts of Atwood) make up the Club members, while Colin Morgan (Oracle's No Beast So Fierce) is Queen Victoria's private secretary and Wesley Daniel (Chicago Shakes' Pericles) is a blue-skinned primitive. Previews for The Explorers Club begin Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Windy City Playhouse, 3014 West Irving Park Road.
