I agree thoroughly - the actual history of the day and the tapes that resulted are far more interesting than the MDQ musical, and it would have been better served as a revue than a book show.

I do have to disagree with you on Good Vibrations though - that one was absolutely mind-blowingly hysterical, albeit for all the wrong reasons. Lennon was bizarre enough to also be interesting and memorable. MDQ... was a show. I saw it a year or so ago, don't need to see it again now.
