The Tacoma Musical Playhouse is proud to present the "one night only" World Premiere of hometown-boy Doug Mackey's irreverent musical revue GRIT CITY FAB FOLLIES. This hilarious audio-visual send-up of Tacoma's past, present and future lampoons its foibles while at the same time saluting its residents.

Firmly based on a show originally commissioned for Tacoma City Club's ‘Fab Four'- themed, 25th Anniversary Gala last year, the performance was so enthusiastically received that Mackey has expanded and updated the material specifically for the TMP stage. Subjects include Tacoma's glut of condos, the departure of Frank Russell, blowing up the Asarco Smelter, Tollefson Plaza, and the city's infamous potholes.

For this special event, TMP has teamed with Mackey, Grit City Creative, pianist Terry O'Hara and an exceptionally gifted cast of some of the area's most talented young singer/actors, including: Grace Oberhofer, Bryan Gula, Claire Idstrom, Grant Troyer, Rachel Lind and Henry Nettleton.

The sole performance of GRIT CITY FAB FOLLIES is 7:30 pm, Thursday, May 6 at Tacoma Musical Playhouse, 7116 6th Avenue in Tacoma. All seating for TMP productions is reserved, so advance purchase is strongly recommended. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for students, seniors and military and $15 for children (12 and under). Contact the TMP Box Office directly for tickets at (253) 565-6867, Tuesday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm. Additional information also available at www.tmp.org.
