After a thorough search SPT has announced the hiring of new Development Manager, Heather Beasley.

Beasley joins SPT after a recent move from Longmont, Colorado, where she worked as Director of Development and Strategy for the Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, and as the assistant program director of the University of Colorado's Opera Program.

Beasley holds a doctorate in theatre from the University of Colorado Boulder, with certificates in women's studies and the graduate teaching program. After earning her undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and Theatre from Creighton University, Beasley went on to complete a Master's Degree in theatre with a focus in Dramaturgy from Villanova University. Her articles and reviews have appeared in Theatre Journal, The Journal of Popular Culture, Theatre Studies, and The Journal of Religion and Theatre, of which she is also past general editor. Beasley is a past president of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival Guild, and also of OnStage. In 2000, she co-founded the Theatre and Dance Department's Boulder Fringe Festival, now in its 13th year. Heather also works as a dramaturg, director, and stage manager.

"Heather brings a great sense of organization and love of theater to help us in our fundraising efforts," says SPT Managing Director, Keith Dahlgren. "I'm very excited about working with her."

SPT Artistic and Education Director, Shana Bestock, more than echoes the sentiment. "Heather is so personable and easy to be with, but don't let the kind, generous, warm demeanor fool you - she's wicked smart, terrifically intelligent, highly driven and an incredible gift to our community. I'm excited to welcome her to the SPT team!"
