ABOUT SALESGIRLS OF NOWHERE
Following the loss of his entire comedy improv troupe in a tragic, albeit audience-suggested, improvisation accident, Chicago comedian Alan Evans finds himself in a town called Nowhere. Some might say he's come to the right place. Seeking solace and escape from his past, Evans never foresaw befriending Juliet the salesgirl at the department store Pen & Pencil counter, nor did he reckon on encountering Nowhere's populace of quirky characters including Mr. Schwingle The Ridiculously Evil Mayor, Nyssa-Sandy The Sock-Obsessed Orphan Waif, Crazy Jim the Aqua phobic Championship Swimmer, The Department Store Manager and his Bossy Little Sidekick Italics, and of course Little Joey Robbles the 9-year old Giant Farmer Boy-oddball personalities Juliet is convinced may very well be characters in a play, and not a particularly good play at that.

"Creating characters in rehearsal and then working out how they might exist together in a story is an often terrifying way to generate material for a new play," says director and playwright Wayne Rawley. "We are surprising ourselves at least once every rehearsal. We all know that this process of discovery is going to continue right up until the last ticket is torn on opening night. To say that what we are going to present to our audience will be fresh is an understatement. The plate will likely still be hot. But every time we have asked 'Is this funny?' the answer so far has always been 'Yes!'"

With a story developed entirely through ensemble improv, Rawley once again brings together a multi-talented cast of dangerously funny young people to tell a story rich in quirky humor and colorful characters--guaranteed to make you laugh, make you think, and leave you puzzled as to why more people aren't paying attention to these kids!

Salesgirls of Nowhere features the acting talents of Angelina Aries, Ingamar Christophersen, Frank Garland, Jake Gordon, Nora Hammen, Claire Kiersky, Leigh Kiker, Nate Mascis, Torin Record-Sand, Olivia Sterne and Tess Sevetson, and is stage-managed by Charlie Tadlock.

Salesgirls of Nowhere runs Friday April 26 and Saturday April 27 @ 7pm, Sunday April 28 @ 2pm, Friday May 3 @ 7pm, and Saturday May 4 @ 7pm. Admission is FREE.

HOW ABOUT A DOUBLE-BILL?
During the second weekend of Salesgirls of Nowhere, S3 Productions presents The Hats We Wear: A Night of One-Acts, Saturday, May 4th @ 2pm Sunday and May 5th @ 7pm. This three-play festival features all original works exploring the different paths we take, the different roles we play, and the mysteries in-between. Admission is FREE.

ABOUT SPT'S YOUTH PROGRAM
"I have no idea how they do it," says SPT Youth Program parent and supporter Fred Rowley, "but their capacity to demand exceptional acting and (production) standards of their students while fostering a remarkable commitment to each other ...is nothing if not brilliant, and I'm humbled by it."

Come see why Seattle Public Theater's Youth Program is so often praised for its ability to transcend traditional expectations of "Children's Theater" with exciting theatrical experiences for the whole community.

Next up on the SPT Mainstage, Julia Cho's The Language Archive asks the question, "What is love without language, what is language without love?" The Language Archive, directed by Shana Bestock opens May 17 and runs through June 9. For tickets and more information visit seattlepublictheater.org.
