Late Night at Taproot brings Remember Being Born?, Solomon Davis' one-man show, to the Taproot Theatre Mainstage this fall on Friday nights after the performances of Enchanted April. The comedy of Bill Cosby, Steve Martin and Kevin Kling merge into a style that's distinctly his own in this comic show. Davis, an award-winning storyteller and comedian, takes you from fits of laughter to gentle tugs at the heartstrings as he spins his tale from birth to baptism and everything in between. Remember Being Born? takes place on October 2, 9, 16 and 23, at 10:15 p.m., or shortly after the Mainstage performance ends.

Davis has been seen on Seattle stages as Tom Sawyer in Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn at Taproot Theatre, and as James in The Shark at Emerald City Scene. Prior to coming to Seattle, he performed regularly with 88improv in Omaha, was commissioned for numerous one-person shows and toured with Northwestern College's professional theatre team. He currently tours with Taproot Theatre's Road Company, which brings social-issues plays dealing with bullying prevention to schools through the Pacific Northwest.

Tickets are $10 at the door, or $8 for patrons staying after the performance of Enchanted April. Taproot Theatre is located at 204 North 85th Street in Greenwood.

Enchanted April by Matthew Barber, from the novel by Elizabeth von Arnim, takes two women on a post-World War I journey from London to Portofino, Italy. Eager for an escape, the women join an aging matron and a young socialite at an enchanting seaside castle. Their month-long holiday transforms their discontent in joyful and unexpected ways. Enchanted April runs through October 24. For tickets, call the box office at 206-781-9707.
