You know, just like a "stay-cation-- a vacation spent at home or nearby to home." A low cost gas bill and great discounts at local hotels and eateries thru the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce will allow you and your loved ones to make the trip over to this lively, Bavarian-themed town.

To complete your "Jazz-cation" itinerary - Icicle Creek Center for the Arts will present a "gypsy-swing-jazz" concert by Pearl Django tonight, September 1st at 7PM in the intimate Canyon Wren Recital Hall located at 7409 Icicle Road, Leavenworth, WA.

Gypsy jazz (also known as gypsy swing or hot club jazz) is a style of jazz music often said to have been started by guitarist Jean "Django" Reinhardt in the 1930s.

The Pearl Django group today, featuring: Michael Gray, violin; Rick Leppanen, double bass; David Lange, accordion; Ryan Hoffman, guitar and Troy Chapman, guitar, will perform this style live, at the beautiful Icicle Creek campus.

"Pearl Django play(s) gypsy jazz…and they do it with such verve, skill and pleasure that they're pretty much irresistible to jazz and non-jazz listeners alike," says Seattle Weekly.

Tickets are only $25 per person and include a complimentary chocolate and champagne buffet to celebrate the holiday weekend.
