BPA Theatre School is now taking enrollments for Fall Quarter, with registration beginning July 31.

BPA's after-school classes are designed to help develop capable people as well as trained theatre artists. We offer skill-building classes, which provide the tools and techniques to develop up-and-coming performers, as well as performance series classes, in which students can apply skills in a performance-focused experience. We recommend that brand new students try a skill-building class first, though both skill-building and performance series may be taken in the same quarter. Classes are categorized to help families better understand the curriculum goals for different types of offerings: Developing Actors (Ages 3 ½ - Grade 1), Building Character (Grades 2 - 7), Specialty Classes (Grades 1 - 7), Performance Series (Grades 2 - 7) and Teen Intensive Program (Grades 8 - 12).

Noted for the benefits it provides in creativity, social skills, and brain development, BPA's Developing Actors program focuses on developing capable people as well as future performers. Classes include "Story Drama" for Ages 3 ½ -5 and "Creative Drama - Fairytale Adventures" for Grades K - 1, both led by instructor Emuna David.

BPA Theatre School's Building Character program emphasizes ensemble building, pursuing objectives, overcoming obstacles, and using voice and body to create captivating characters. Classes include "Curriculum in Motion" for Grades 1 - 3 and "Creating a Character" for Grades 5 - 7), both taught by Emuna David.

Designed specifically with our students in mind, BPA Theatre School's Specialty Classes offer unique learning opportunities for students. Classes for the Fall Quarter include "Theatre Dance" for Grades 4 & Up led by BPA Theatre School Director of Education Zandi Carlson, "Intro to Musical Theatre -- Mary Poppins" for Grades 1 - 3 with Emuna David, and "Group Voice - Disney Classics" with instructor Michelle Abad.

BPA Theatre School's Performance Series program is about more than just getting on stage. When it comes to performing, BPA's educational program inspires confidence building, character building, community building, and celebrating the joy of artistic expression. Youth Theatre Production I for Grades 2 - 4 and Youth Theatre Production II for Grades 5 - 7 are both geared to strengthen intermediate acting and performance skills, including character development, vocal variety, expression, and comedic timing. Each class will perform a play in BPA Theatre School's Fall Showcase on November 12 & 14.

As part of a year-long program, Zandi Carlson teaches the Teen Intensive Program along with guest artists, who are also working theatre professionals. The offering for Fall Quarter is "Teen Intensive -- Auditioning" for Grades 8 - 12. Students will learn to prepare them for Mainstage and professional auditions, and the class will include getting professional headshots taken, making resumes, and preparing audition material appropriate for each student's respective age and character type. This class will require memorization and preparation outside of class and will culminate in a mock audition with professional theatre directors and casting directors.

BPA Theatre School offers year-round classes and camps for students of all ages and experience levels taught by professional teaching artists to help build character! We believe that theatre education and training provides life-long skills of confidence, responsibility, and a joy of learning -- all in a fun and supportive environment.
