"You know we're going to talk about sex tonight, right?" Those are some of the first words spoken by Isabella Rossellini (with a devilish twinkle in her eye) after she walked onto stage the other night at the Moore Theatre for her "Green Porno" performance letting the audience know we were in for one hell of a night. But don't think she was trying to scandalize or titillate. She was just informing us on what our education for the night entailed and what an education it was. A hilarious, illuminating and all together wonderful night of naughty education.

For those unfamiliar with Rossellini's "Green Porno" series I demand you go to the internet immediately after reading this article and treat yourself to some. Rossellini has made several short films using her love of animals and her vast education to indoctrinate us on the mating habits of animals and insects. But she does so with her inimitable style and well honed acting skills and dressed as the subject creature. Whether it be the whale, the duck or a simple house fly she gleefully and without reservations demonstrates the mating and childbirth habits of these creatures for our edification and amusement. And with her "Green Porno" tour she not only shows select videos but lectures about these habits and at times demonstrates on stage. Yes, you heard me. Award winning actress and international superstar Isabella Rossellini (arguably one of the most beautiful women on the planet) dresses up like animals and shows how they get it on.

Rossellini's zeal for the subject matter combined with her slightly warped sense of humor makes for such a scandalously fun evening that you may just forget that you're learning something. For example I know way more about a duck's vagina or a barnacle's penis than I ever thought I would and I am much richer for the knowledge. For it's this diversity in the varying species that Rossellini is truly introducing us to in order for us to understand how different we all are from each other as humans, and that's a very good thing.

Alas dear readers Isabella Rossellini was only in town for one night so she has come and gone (pun intended). But if she ever comes back be sure not to miss this truly individual and incredible event. And in the meantime, you can check out those videos. No, I mean it. GO!
