League of American Orchestras Announces 72nd National Conference in Detroit, 6/6-8

The League of American Orchestras' 2017 National Conference in Detroit, June 6-8, will focus on the ways forward for orchestras in an uncertain public policy landscape. Using the story of Detroit's revitalization and resurgent creative community as a backdrop, the Conference will include a diverse array of civic, business, and cultural voices, including many from the Motor City.
Theatre Communications Group Publishes DEAR EVAN HANSEN

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the publication of Dear Evan Hansen, with a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Dear Evan Hansen premiered at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. the summer of 2015, with a subsequent Off Broadway run at Second Stage the spring of 2016 and transfer to Broadway in the fall of the same year where it's currently running. The original musical earned nine Tony Award nominations this season.

David Yurman is pleased to announce that Lila Reynolds from Otis College of Art and Design is the recipient of the David Yurman Young Artist Prize for 2017. Lila Reynolds will receive $20,000 in scholarship funds and will have her sculpture displayed in David Yurman boutiques in the Fall. In addition, Otis College of Art and Design will also receive a Master Class with David Yurman himself.

Dance has been an important aspect of Chinese life since ancient times. A new collection at the University of Michigan Library provides a unique resource for the study of Chinese dance and its integral and shifting role in Chinese history, culture and politics.   Among the collection's highlights is the 'Pioneers of Chinese Dance Digital Archive,' a collection of more than 1,500 photographs from the private holdings of Chinese dancers whose careers spanned the 1930s through the 2000s and who had a major impact on the history of Chinese dance.  
Matrix Theatre Premieres Original Production Based on Exclusive Audio Interviews About Detroit's 1967 Uprising

Matrix Theatre Company completes its 2016 - 2017 Mainstage Season with its most highly anticipated show, Dream Deferred: Detroit, 1967. The original production opens June 2 and runs through June 25 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM.
