Last night, the Philly POP's kicked off their sold-out series Blockbuster Broadway, featuring the guest talents of Hugh Panaro, Rachel York and Alli Mauzey. On deck: showstoppers from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera (with Panaro, the Philadelphia-native who starred in the title role on Broadway), Les Miserables (with York who starred as Fantine on Broadway), Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, Wicked (with Mauzey who starred as Glinda on Broadway), and more iconic shows. The Philly POP's streamed a live video to their Facebook featuring the show-stopper 'Do You Hear the People Sing' from LES MISERABLES. Check it out below!

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced a weeklong celebration to honor the 100th anniversary of the birth of its namesake, the late President John F. Kennedy-whose 100th birthday would have been May 29, 2017. The Center kicked off its Centennial celebration last May, and by the end of 2017, will have presented a suite of more than 50 distinct programs inspired by five ideals often ascribed to President Kennedy: Courage, Freedom, Justice, Service, and Gratitude. Special performances fromMay 23-29, 2017 span theater programs, dance, music, and the return of the Center's popular Open House, which all memorialize the life and legacy of America's 35th President. Highlights include performances by DJ Spooky, Yo-Yo Ma with the National Symphony Orchestra, the world premieres of Kennedy Center commissions by composer Mason Bates and Company E, and special Open House performances by Bandaloop, Flexn, and others. Additional programs through 2017 will be announced at a future date.
Baryshnikov Arts Center Presents BAC Salons

 The Baryshnikov Arts Center continues its signature salon series with four evenings of music in an intimate setting in March, held in the John Cage & Merce Cunningham Studio. In this series, entitled BAC Salon: The Originals, BAC showcases music by composers with uncompromising visions, performed by some of today's most respected musicians. On March 20 and 21, 2017 at 7:30pm, BAC will present BAC Salon: Jana?ek + Ives featuring performances by Gilles Vonsattel, piano; Jay Campbell, cello; and Paul Appleby, tenor. On March 22 and 23, 2017 at 7:30pm, BAC presents BAC Salon: Biber + Nancarrow with performers Mark Fewer, violin; James Kennerley, organ; Charles Weaver, theorbo and guitar; Daniel Swenberg, theorbo; and Robert Willey, Yamaha Disklavier and synthesizer.
Fabien Gabel Leads Houston Symphony in Lyrical Program

Fabien Gabel, music director of the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, will lead the Houston Symphony and Argentine pianist Ingrid Fliter during Tchaikovsky's Pathetique at 8 p.m. March 9 and 11 and 2:30 p.m. March 12. The program will include Mendelssohn's The Hebrides and Piano Concerto No. 1 and will conclude with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6.

The Madison Square Garden Company announced today the unprecedented 43rd consecutive show by legendary musician and MSG franchise Billy Joel on July 5, 2017. The July show is part of his residency at The World's Most Famous Arena which began in January 2014 with Joel playing one show per month at The Garden as part of the Spectrum Concert Series. The July show will be Joel's 89th all-time performance at The Garden.
