The critically acclaimed improvisational frontrunners The Showstoppers are not only bringing their Olivier Award-winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical to Pleasance Grand this year, the team are also dropping by Pleasance Above with their unique blend of spontaneous musical theatre and whimsical kids entertainment, The Showstoppers' Kids' Show. Aimed entirely at children, The Showstoppers' story factory will be open for business from 3rd - 21st August at 11:40am.

The Showstoppers' Kids' Show is for the young 'uns so every suggestion gets used to create a wildly imaginative musical that only a kid could make up. No two shows are ever the same as The Showstoppers take suggestions and then magic a brand new musical comedy adventure out of thin air. If your children could create their very own show, where would they start? In a dolls' house? A magic castle? The spooky cupboard under the stairs? For those kids who fancy it, there are also plenty of opportunities to join in. But grown-ups should be aware, youngsters call the shots and suggestions are ONLY taken from kids!

Having grown since 2008 to become the UK's most acclaimed and in-demand musical improvisers, The Showstoppers have become a must-see staple of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and are now a West End favourite as well.

With an acclaimed BBC Radio 4 series to their name, the team have taken their ingenious blend of comedy, musical theatre and spontaneity around the globe, picking up accolades and awards including the 2016 Chortle Award for Character, Improv or Sketch Act, The Times Best of the Fringe, Mervyn Stutter's Spirit Of The Fringe Award and nominations for MTM Best Production Award and MTM Judges' Discretionary Award. They even appeared on CBBC's The Slammer - and won!

The rotating cast features some of the brightest minds in the world of comedy and musical theatre.

The company includes:

Co-founder Adam Meggido, a multi award-winning writer/composer who has improvised at the National, The Royal Court Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and currently holds the world record for the directing the longest impro show - 55 hours without a break. He is also director of the 2016 Olivier nominated (for Best New Comedy) Peter Pan Goes Wrong.

Dylan Emery, the other co-founder, has been improvising for more than 15 years - including at the National/Royal Court/Shakespeare's Globe. He created veteran comedy improv group Grand Theft Impro, and the UK's premier website devoted to the form thecrunchyfrogcollective.com.

Pippa Evans is an Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee and has had great success on TV, radio and stage. A regular on BBC Radio 4's The Now Show, BBC2's Fast and Loose, she performs regularly with the Comedy Store Players and has had years of success with her hit character act Loretta Maine.

Ruth Bratt is an improv Fringe regular for the last 11 years whose recent TV credits include the BAFTA nominated People Just Do Nothing (BBC3), Ricky Gervais' Derek, Sarah Millican's Support Group and Vic Reeves' The Ministry Of Curious Stuff.
