Tell us a bit about Awake.

Awake is about five women around the world who are all awake in the middle of the night. Their narratives are interwoven to reveal their joint story, exploring the harrowing effects Insomnia can have on the lives of those that suffer from it

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

I think that Edinburgh is the home of new writing and of storytelling. It's a place where a you can try out new ideas in a collaborative environment. Even though the competition to get noticed is fierce, I think that there is a great community spirit at the festival which as a solo performer I am looking forward to embracing.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?

Awake is not autobiographical, but it is inspired my personal experiences with insomnia. Insomnia is something that touches most people at some point in their lives, however briefly and so I think it is a topic that will be of interest to a wide number of people.

What are the benefits of performing at the Free Fringe?

Anyone who's been will tell you that putting on a show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival costs a small fortune! The Free Fringe model means that one of the major costs, hiring the venue, is removed therefore making the expedition to Scotland a more realistic endeavour. You have the support of EdFringe and then the you also get the additional support of Alex and his team at the Free Fringe which is brilliant.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

Anyone who enjoys a good story!
