Producer Alison Beattie speaks to BWW:UK about Story Pocket Theatre's Arabian Nights.

How would you describe your show?

A fun-filled hour of beautiful story-telling, madcap comedy, songs, physical comedy, a puppet, a witty script and 3 enormously talented actors creating 54+ characters with such clarity, transporting the audience to many far off places and exciting tales.

Is this your first visit to the Edinburgh Fringe?

It is not my first visit. I came many years ago when my husband was in a play about the Kray twins. We had a wonderful time then and I returned last year when I rekindled the buzz for the Festival. I cycled from Newcastle to Edinburgh and when I arrived in the city the Festival excitement and energy was almost tangible.

This is the first time I have produced a play in the Fringe Festival.

What are your expectations of Edinburgh Fringe 2014?

I am hoping to meet a huge amount of like-minded people whom we can collaborate with in the future. I am hoping many people will come and see our show and want to see more of Story Pocket's productions and I can't wait to see as many of the other shows as possible. I am looking forward to being immersed in the buzz again!

What sets it apart from all the other children's show at this year's festival?

I can't speak about the other shows but our show will entertain the whole family whatever age the children and adults are. It is storytelling at its best and our production values are high.

Arabian Nights begins previews on July 30th and runs until the 24th of August.
