There is not really a theme to Andrew Lawrence's stand up show at the Fringe. Most other comedy shows tend to have an overall direction but Lawrence addresses this early on, saying that he doesn't feel his show needs to actually be about something.

Andrew Lawrence is obnoxious, sarcastic and utterly hilarious. As a seemingly completely miserable person, he states that when he is writing material for his show he thinks "what would I say if I rang Samaritans?".

It is hard to pinpoint what makes this show great without simply repeating his jokes. The 60 minute show is fast paced and he relies heavily on audience interaction which showcases his quick wit and ability to improvise.

It is rarely advisable to sit in the front row for a stand up comic, but be warned- it is particularly unwise with Andrew Lawrence.

Andrew Lawrence: There Is No Escape runs at the Pleasance Courtyard until August 25th. Timings and ticket information here.
