Theatre producer Max Bialystock is best known for his string of Broadway failures. When his accountant Leo Bloom comments that under certain circumstances, a flop could make more money than a hit, the pair begin to hatch a plan. Staging the musical Springtime for Hilter and recruiting the worst possible director and actors they can think of, the show is bound to fail. Naturally, things don't quite go according to plan.

Jason Manford proves early in the production that he was not given the role of Leo Bloom on the basis of having a big name that will draw crowds. His acting is superb and he has a wonderful singing voice. With Cory English as Max Bialystock the two make a fantastic double act. Special mention also has to go to Tiffany Graves who was a very likeable Ulla. Ross Noble is "playwright" Franz Liebkind, a Nazi who wants to see what he believes to be a true account of Hitler brought to the masses. Both terrifying and hilarious, Noble plays the part brilliantly.

Everything about The Producers is incredibly polished. The costumes and sets when the musical (within the musical!) begins are equally ridiculously and amazing! With such a good cast and a lot of laughs throughout, The Producers makes for a great night out for both comedy and musical die-hards.

The Producers runs at the Theatre Royal until Saturday 20th June.
